The Pastor and the Elders support the spiritual leadership of our congregation as a team. We look forward to what God will call out of us as gifts to use in service over the years to come. Our Elders and Minister work together to provide spiritual leadership and faith formation, congregational development, bible studies, and other programs to suit our community's needs.
Rev Dr Darlene Brewer is an ordained minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was ordained in 2019, right here at Wyndholme! Darlene is from Newfoundland and Labrador and has been active in ecumenical and interfaith circles as well as service to the church as a volunteer and paid employee for over 25 years. She has served as a chaplain, program director, youth minister, and in various other roles. Darlene is fortunate to have served in ministry across the country, specifically in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta. Darlene is passionate about justice-making initiatives and community-building adventures in ministry. Here in Dartmouth she is part of the ministerial that meets to plan services and to be social. She is delighted to share her home with her husband, Arthur, and their two cats, and thankful for their love and support. She is also eternally grateful for Arthur's generosity in contributing his technical skills when asked to the good work of the congregation. Darlene enjoys walking, writing, and adventuring along the coast. And she's always up for tea time!
Her educational background includes a PhD in Systematic & Historical Theology (Saint Paul university/University of Ottawa), a Master of Divinity and Master of Theological Studies (AST), and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and English Literature (MUN).
